![]() It's extremely easy and pretty fun to hack. However, it works really well on almost everything, it being offline is great, and being able to search is really useful. ![]() For example, I wrote down "Graceling," the title of a book, and it somehow couldn't figure out that the "l" wasn't a "/", even when it was vertical or even a bit slanted backwards. It does get a bit mixed up on non-English words when in English mode. The writing experience is really good-not much like pencil on paper, but it's comfortable and easy to write on. Writing on a tablet is automatically better than paper, such as being able to drag around or copy text and how easy it is to erase or undo. The OCR language setting is system-wide, not note-specific, so I can't have one note in German and the rest in English, for example. The 2-finger hold for eraser sometimes fails because of palm rejection. It slides a bit on some tables, but that can easily be fixed by some rubber pads or Sugru on the back. The notebook section is missing some useful features, such as an infinite canvas, straight line or circle drawing tools, and maybe typed text when a keyboard is connected. I'm not sure if this is actually a complaint, but it can occasionally be annoying to have so much of the underlying Android OS hidden away, such as not having sideloading allowed without an ADB command. The company is generally good with sustainability and customer service, but they don't sell replacement parts. I wish the built-in app store had more than just Kindle, though sideloading is so easy that it doesn't really matter.
